Memories

This weekend my Esther (younger sister) came up to visit for Patty (older sister) and I's birthday weekend. We always enjoy this time together, eating, playing games, eating, joking around, eating, but one of my favorite things is to reminisce old times. Why? It is hilarious, the things you forget and then reminded of, or hearing how dumb you were when you were younger. It is just a good time laughing at ourselves.

Creating new ones is just as fun since we have two fairly new people joining our little family. It is times like this that I wish I had more of. As I think of all the things in this world I'd give a lot (I don't think I'd give up eating) to be around my sisters.

My Hard Working Fiancee

One thing that I've seen Mandy do this past year has been juggling various aspects of her life from work to sociallizing. Many nights when I want to socialize she has to either work or study (despite her desire to do otherwise), that sacrifice finally paid off, her goal to be a nurse is one large step closer. A few weeks ago she opened her acceptance letter for the ICN. What a blessing. We've talked about a contingency plan if she doesn't get in. Some of the ideas was to pick another major, go to work, and my least favorite go to another nursing school not in the Spokane area. I was so proud of her when I heard the news because she worked hard to do well in her courses at Whitworth, EWU and SCC. It's not going to get any easier, rather the opposite, so it'll be an uphill battle for her to stay on course this next couple years.
